One Biotechnology

Press Release

One Biotechnology has partnered with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in developing many of its products under the U.S. EPA’s Safer Choice Program, formerly known as the Design for the Environment (DfE) program.

According to the EPA’s website, “Finding cleaning and other products that are safer for you, your family, and the environment should be easy — that's why we developed our new Safer Choice label. We all play a role in protecting our families’ health and the environment. Products with the Safer Choice label help consumers and commercial buyers identify and select products with safer chemical ingredients, without sacrificing quality or performance.”  Safer Choice labels will be transitioning on a rolling basis as products are sold into the marketplace.

In order to pass U.S. EPA’s Safer Choice Program requirements, a product must undergo a rigorous assessment by third party profilers and the EPA. This assessment carefully screens each ingredient in the product for any potential human health and environmental effect.

Our longstanding relationship with the EPA dates back to 2003.  All of One Biotechnology’s products have had Safer Choice recognition. Products are recognized by the U.S. EPA’s Safer Choice Program in the following classes: Drain Maintainer, Grease Trap, Septic System Treatment.

The U.S. EPA’s Safer Choice Program recognition does not constitute endorsement of this product. The Safer Choice logo signifies that the formula for this product, as One Biotechnology has represented it to the EPA and the NSF, a third-party profiler, contains ingredients with more positive health and environmental characteristics than conventional products. The U.S. EPA’s Safer Choice Program relies solely on One Biotechnology, its integrity and good faith, for information on the composition, ingredients, and attributes of this product.

One Biotechnology™  specializes in the production of patented, live microbial cultures, which have an amazing ability to consume fats, oil and grease. Products are sold to plumbers, contractors, and service organizations who then sell the product to the residential or commercial end-users. The liquid BioOne™ product has earned the EPA Safer Choice label, recognizing its positive affect on human health and the environment.  Headquarters and all manufacturing are located in Sarasota, Florida.  More information can be found at
